The beginning of winter was the starting point for the journey towards our great goal – raising funds to purchase quadcopters DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo for Operational Command “North”. Together with NGO “Agency of City Initiatives”, “KOLO” Charitable Foundation and “Loty Proty” community, we opened a New Year’s Eve auction in favour of our “northern cats”. The lots were meetings with interesting and famous people, primarily Chernihiv residents.
After weeks of preparation, the project was finally launched in December. More than a hundred citizens supported the idea and wished to sell a meeting with themselves at a charity auction for a common dream – bringing Victory closer. Under the initiative’s terms, the starting bid was 500 UAH, and the minimum “step” was 100 UAH.
We already organized meetings with Andrii Yarmolenko, Nataliia Zhyzhchenko and a mine-sniffing dog Patron within the auction. There was also an opportunity to talk with IT industry representatives: Yaroslav Tsyhanenko, Yehor Herasymchuk, Maiia Tavlui, Kostiantyn Makarov, Maksym Melnyk, Arturas Kvederis, Tetiana Mekshun, Anton Rekun, Alina Dykukha, Andrii Umanskyi, Viktoriia Prydatko and others.
The meetings format was varied and included discussions on business topics, professional consultations, mentoring sessions, excursions, creative master classes, photo shoots, etc.
During the fundraising process, our partners from NGO “Agency of City Initiatives” also organized “Historic Suburb” tour with the scientist and local historian Volodymyr Pylypenko, where attendees could “touch” the glorious Chernihiv past and support the ongoing project with donations. In addition, we received help from Suspilne Chernihiv TV channel, whose team collected money during the pre-premiere screening of the documentary “Battle for Chernihiv. Episode 3”. A total of 414,929 ₴ was raised, and the most expensive lot of our auction was a meeting with Andrii Yarmolenko.
